PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Technical SEO Specialist on a Contract (30 hrs/wk) basis. This role can be based remotely anywhere in the United States. This role is expected to work around 30 hours per week for at least 6 months, with potential to extend (full benefits are offered during this period).

Summary

The SEO Specialist will help execute organic search initiatives across traditional SEO as well as AEO/GEO and emerging AI-driven search experiences. This individual will partner with SEO leadership and cross-functional teams to improve technical performance, content visibility, search rankings, and visibility within AI/LLM platforms while supporting testing and future optimization strategies.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support technical SEO audits covering crawlability, indexation, site speed, structured data, internal linking, and Core Web Vitals.
\n
• Create and QA development tickets, track implementation, and validate completed SEO enhancements.
\n
• Monitor keyword rankings, organic visibility, share of search, and other key SEO performance indicators.
\n
• Track AI/LLM visibility, citation rates, and share of voice across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Gemini to identify competitive gaps and opportunities.
\n
• Develop on-page SEO/AEO/GEO recommendations, including metadata, schema, FAQs, page templates, and internal linking improvements.
\n
• Design and execute SEO tests involving areas such as title tags, internal linking, and schema markup.
\n
• Partner with content teams on editorial strategy for owned content as well as external and earned placements.
\n
• Support site migrations, URL redirect mapping, reporting, dashboard maintenance, competitor analysis, and performance deep dives.
\n

Required Skills

\n
• 3-5 years of SEO experience within an in-house or agency environment.
\n
• Working knowledge of technical SEO, including crawling, indexing, site architecture, log file analysis, structured data, and Core Web Vitals.
\n
• Familiarity with AEO/GEO concepts and how LLMs and AI search experiences surface and cite content, ideally including hands-on experimentation with AI visibility strategies.
\n
• Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with experience developing dashboards and reporting on SEO KPIs.
\n
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript concepts as they relate to SEO, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and conduct competitor and gap analyses.
\n
• Strong organizational and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
\n
• Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments is preferred.
\n
• Experience with Profound or similar AI visibility/citation -tracking platforms, international SEO and hreflang, YouTube SEO, local SEO across Google My Business, Bing, and Apple, and using generative AI to streamline SEO processes is preferred.
